Under the direction of the Security Operations Executive Director, this position will coordinate security programs and practices (protocols, procedures, standards) regarding investigations and training throughout the organization. Will need to be available to immediately respond to critical incidents for collaboration and/or active investigations.

Lead and coordinate with security suppliers and KP regional and local management on security programs and practices regarding investigations and training for the physical security program. Will contribute to guard staff professionalism, image, and performance improvement. Responsibilities include the standardization of the investigative process and training in support of guard services, human resources, risk mitigation, compliance, workplace violence and threat management. Will collaborate with National Security Investigative Unit on investigations.

Responsible for the regional delivery and tracking of security training among all regions as a Shared Service and the education of physicians and staff on security and safety measures for personal, patient, and property protection. Will develop training to prepare investigators, guard officers, dispatchers, supervisors and related staff to be effective, proactive, and professional in their roles. Training will be provided through online courses, classroom instruction and operational drills. This position will coordinate with appropriate stakeholders and law enforcement for active shooter training, prevention of workplace violence, and other initiatives to capitalize on efficiencies and standardization, mitigation of risk, regulatory compliance, and retention of staff.

Essential Responsibilities:
General Investigations: Conduct education and training for KP and supplier management staff. Provide timely and complete general Investigations, fully documenting results. Closely coordinate with National Security Investigations Unit (NSIU) to establish and maintain appropriate linkages for supporting incidents/violations not covered by the NSIU, workplace violence consultation and support, and disaster recovery operations. Conduct general investigations, per National Security Investigative Unit Service Level Agreement, as appropriate. Coordinate with law enforcement as appropriate.
Establish and participate in an Investigations Center of Excellence.
Quality Assurance: Develop and recommend quality assurance programs and practices that encompass KP national and security supplier management strategies. Ensure program accountabilities parallel corporate best practices, meet identified stakeholder service expectations, and promote cost efficiencies and economies of effort for security operations.
Program/Service Assessments: Create and/or conduct security surveys and assessments utilizing supplier value added services to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend service and improvement measures. Surveys will include risk management studies, cost-benefit analysis, inventory and vulnerability assessments as related to hospital/industry best practices.
Program Development & Management: Responsible for identifying and developing programs regarding efficiencies of guard services which embrace cost savings, best practices and risk reduction opportunities. Responsible for implementing and managing asset protection program across all regions. Assemble and present monthly reports, which identify meaningful progress or problems emerging within the national security program.
Education & Training: Initiate, sponsor and facilitate programs and processes, which support economies of scale and effort through standardization of nationwide practices and initiatives. Program sponsorship and standardized practice include but are not limited to: training program development, contractual/program audits, policy development, and service agreements.
General: Establish annual operational goals and objectives consistent with the management plan and service improvement outcomes identified by the Lead of Security Operations. Responsible for identifying working priorities, assigning project completion dates and evaluating measured outcomes.
Plans, delegates, and controls work assignments and special projects of other employees.
Trains, develops, and motivates employees to improve their performance.
