Acuity Systems has an exciting opportunity for Database Administrator/ETL Developer to work closely with internal project team and customer (US Government Agency) stakeholders to design, develop, and implement cloud architectures for multi-tenant application service platforms.
The successful candidate must be self-motivated and provide expertise on database technologies and administration, tools, and best practices to meet availability, scalability, performance, and security requirements for implementing the customer’s systems in a cloud environment. This candidate is expected to be a team player and a proven technical expert in RDBMS, who will perform DBA duties for the current Operating Data Set in Oracle RDBMS as well as develop ETL scripts as part of a data migration effort.
This database administrator/developer must have hands-on experience with enterprise level environments and have worked with smaller cross-functional agile software development teams to design, integrate and implement application services as well as adapt quickly and respond to new problems and issues efficiently and effectively. Additional qualifications include competency in shell scripting, source control, and CI/CD tasks.
Perform DBA duties for Oracle (PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB possible) in AWS cloud
Collaborate with software development team, business analysists and other members of the Data team in an Agile environment
Design, develop, implement and maintain code in data-centric environments
Evaluate, cleanse, and transform data to meet Data Quality standards
Create, maintain, deploy and debug Pentaho ETL scripts
Comply with security requirements and policies
Conduct work within a regimented Agile lifecycle approach
Bachelors in Computer Science or Mathematics or Information Systems
Understanding of SQL, database design and implementation strategies
Understanding of EDW environments with RDBMS
Must be able to perform database tuning on an RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL)
Able to communicate and translate business needs into technical designs and documents in both written and oral channels
Experience with consuming Data Flow Diagram (DFD) Level 0/1

Understanding of data modeling, big data environments, and database design
Knowledge of scalable Agile development practices and release management (SAFe).
Understanding and/or experience working with relational (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational database technologies

Bourne or bash shell scripting
Python scripting a plus
ER Modeling a plus
JIRA and Confluence a big plus
Ability to obtain a US government security clearance is required
