The ideal candidate will help us achieve our goals by partnering with the Owners and Program Director to develop and provide a premium experience for our students and the community.
Responsibilities:
Class Instruction and Administration:
- Instruction of high energy, benefit driven classes using PMA's systems and curriculum, may conduct recorded or virtual classes
- Build and maintain long lasting, positive relationships with the students and parents
- Serve as a role model and character educator
- Recruit and retain new students/members
- Plan classes, conduct student ranking, tracking, reporting, belt tests, group and private introductory evaluations, and graduations
- Lead and assist with special event scheduling, coordination, and execution
- Assist in management of school (class schedules, supplies, retail ordering and inventory)
- Complete comprehensive training in PMA skills and instruction
- Ensure the studio is clean, safe and upholds the PMA brand and standards
Marketing:
- Lead and execute PMA marketing and lead generation programs
- Represent PMA at recruitment, marketing and community events
- Distribute marketing materials within the community and through social media
- Follow-up and set appointments for introductory lessons
- Accomplish new membership and upgrade goals
- Develop relationship with education and community group leaders
Qualifications:
- Black Belt in your chosen style, with minimum 5 years of martial arts experience
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching or coaching students of varying ages and fitness levels, preferably in Martial Arts
- Teaching experience, coaching, or working directly with kids fitness programs
- Physically agile to demonstrate curriculum
- Top-notch leadership skills, outstanding verbal communication skills with the capacity to command attention
- Respectful, supportive, and fair approach to teaching
- Possess excellent marketing skills to increase revenue and commissions through upgrade memberships, retail, events, and parties. Strong social media and event planning skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills (skilled presenter, public speaker, and phone etiquette)
- Skilled computer skills and capacity to learn the software used to operate the studio
- Interest and flexibility to provide instruction in multiple units in the Houston area
- Ability to attend a week-long training out of town
- Have reliable transportation
- Clear criminal and driving record. Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Experiences and Skills:
- Experience as a youth sports coach, trainer or PE teacher preferred
- Experience in sales, marketing, or promotions
- Bachelor's Degree or Military Service preferred; HS Diploma or GED required
