Microvi is seeking a senior water and wastewater with experience in process/hydraulic/mechanical design of water and/or wastewater treatment systems; project delivery including construction oversight, plant start-up and preparation of documentation (e.g. O&M manuals, commissioning plans, etc.); pilot plant operation and/or unit process commissioning. Most of your time will be spent operating/managing pilot trials, designing water/wastewater treatment solutions, commissioning full scale treatment systems and developing models of Microvi’s biological treatment processes. You will also interface with the engineering staff at Microvi’s top-ranked engineering partners and clients—all while advancing your career and satisfying your passion to help make a transformative change in our world.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Operation and management of pilot trials.
  • Full scale system commissioning.
  • Operator training.
  • Process, hydraulic and mechanical design.
  • Developing process and technoeconomic models of Microvi’s innovative biological process solutions.
  • Preparation of project documentation including project reports, design drawings, control philosophies, O&M manuals, commissioning plans, inspection and test plans, etc.
  • Technical support to Microvi’s business development team for proposal development.
  • Standardization of design and design documentation.
  • Draft detailed technical reports, periodic updates, scientific manuscripts, presentations for trade shows and conferences, and actively participate in new Intellectual Property (IP) creation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Six (6) years’ experience in the water/wastewater industry in pilot plant operation, process commissioning and process design.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil/Environmental or Chemical Engineering.
  • Superb written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision as well as working as part of an integrated team.
  • As travel to project sites is a requirement of the position the successful candidate must hold a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten (10) year’s experience in the water/wastewater industry in pilot plant operation, process commissioning and process design.
  • Active California Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, or ability to obtain one within two (2) years. * Experience with biological treatment systems.
  • Experience with unit process fabrication.
  • Proficiency with computer aided design software (e.g. AutoCAD)
  • Client relationship skills, including preparation and development of proposals and client management experience.
  • Experience in new technology research and development (R&D), including laboratory bench-scale experimentation and design, pilot demonstrations, scale-up, troubleshooting, and technoeconomic analysis.
