Description :Summary of Principal Functions:
The primary function of the Senior Metallics Sales Representative is to be the interface between Cleveland-Cliffs and its high-end Metallics customers. The position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties: customer interaction on issues such as pricing, quality, transportation, billing, payments and business planning. The Metallics Sales Representative will also assist in negotiations and help establish key commercial parameters with clients. Internally the Metallics Sales Representative has responsibility for maintaining key pricing information, customer delivery requirements, product shipment and inventory schedules. The position also assists the Director – Sales with business forecasting models and special projects as required.

Specific Responsibilities (in priority order):
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Maintain open communication and manage daily operational and commercial requirements with Cliffs’ Metallics customers.
Forecast and monitor shipping plans to meet individual customer requirements.
Provide pricing information and updates to internal Cliffs’ personnel and external customers on a regular basis.
Monitor and assist in resolving various commercial issues occurring with customers as needed.
Provide sales and shipping plan estimates to Director - Sales. Review these plans on a regular basis to ensure inventory availability and contract compliance with each individual client.
With Director – Sales, take part in contract negotiations for future and current customers.
Provide commercial commentary and explanations for Monthly Executive Report generated by finance group.
Visit customer locations to provide updates on Metallics production and current commercial issues. Respond to customer inquiries on issues relating to Cliffs’ Metallics products.
Accompany customer representatives to Metallics operating locations and facilitate meetings with Cliffs operations personnel.
Assist Cliffs’ Transportation and client logistics’ departments in meetings with outside service providers to discuss service levels and provide information on commercial activities.
Prepare reports on current sales/distribution activities and issues for internal discussion.
Be a member of Quality Leadership Team and participate in regular meetings.
Present information on commercial trends within the steel and Metallics industries and provide insight on operations and corporate quality.
Work with other departments as required as a representative of the commercial team.
Attend conferences and training seminars on topics related to Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF) steelmaking, Metallics production, commercial trends, and quality.
Develops initiatives and projects to accomplish company business goals. Assigns resources appropriately to execute.
Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations and conferences.
Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
Technically competent with Windows based software programs, specialty specific programs, and company enterprise systems.
Travel up to 20% of time.
Other duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience Required:
5-10 years of steel, metallics and/or scrap industry experience.
Knowledge of steel and metallics industries.
Experience with scrap, pig iron, DRI/HBI sales or purchasing; purchasing for EAF facilities; or working in an EAF facility within its Melt-shop.
Strong verbal communications skills.
Demonstrated mastery of analytical, strategic and creative thinking.
Ability to lead through influence and persuade to action across diverse and competitive stakeholders.
Ability to translate complex data into meaningful information and communicate this to a wide range of audiences.
Demonstrated experience in driving execution in a corporate environment.
