.5 FTE (20 hours) - Nights - Benefit Eligible
This position involves performing a variety of duties to assist the Plant Operations and Environmental Services Departments in maintaining a clean, pleasant and safe environment at all Westfields Hospital & Clinic campus buildings. This position also involves all aspects of floor care including cleaning and maintaining all carpeted and hard floor surfaces at all campus facilities. Maintains floors including; dust mopping, wet mopping, stripping and waxing, buffing, mopboard clean-up, carpet sweeping, vacuuming, spot cleaning, carpet cleaning and cleaning of floor machines. Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares rooms for new occupants; follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms. Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors and walls of bathrooms. Operates cardboard baler and transports bales. Transports infectious waste barrels and trash barrels to appropriate area/receptacle. Disposes of trash, recycling or infectious waste from facility.
Dusts furniture, woodwork and equipment and dust-mops floors. Polishes and cleans fixtures in rooms and bathrooms. Operates mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, snow blowers, shampooers and related environmental service equipment. Wet-mops rooms, halls and other areas; shampoos rugs and furniture. Cleans vents, fan fixtures, top of windows, doorframes and other high areas using a ladder. Sets up for meetings and special occasions, convert furniture for multi-use rooms. Retrieve and transport soiled linen, trash and hazardous waste to appropriate collection area. Launder, fold and distribute linens to appropriate departments.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Good computer skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to be organized, flexible, adaptable to high & low workloads
Ability to work independently. Ability to work shifts required including weekend and holiday rotation. Ability to be a team player. Ability to do physical work. Ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines. Experience in a healthcare facility preferred. Valid driver license preferred. Previous floor care experience preferred.
