Position Title: Sr. Attorney

Position Summary

Manage litigation and provide legal assistance across all areas of the company, including matters related to: real estate, licensing agreements with customers, condemnation, foreclosure, service and vendor contracts, regulatory, securities, employment and benefits, and corporate matters.

Essential Job Functions

Responsible for managing lawsuits and outside counsel across many areas of the Company

Responsible for managing responses to subpoenas and third-party document requests

Training business areas on legal issues and concepts

Advising business units on potential litigation and legal risks

Contract interpretation; involving counsel to Crown personnel regarding various contract matters

Analysis of claims and status reporting to optimize representation of Crown’s interests

Review and analyze new and existing litigation matters and provide legal counsel, includingdevelopment of overall case strategy, providing status reporting and managing outside counsel

Special projects; involving initiation and execution of various projects related to training

Serve as the legal liaison to an Area, Region, or Corporate function department

Participate in formal legal proceedings such as court hearings, mediations, arbitrations and trials, as necessary; participate in settlement negotiations, as necessary

Education/Certifications

Bachelor’s Degree

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school

Attorney’s License

Experience/Minimum Requirements

Minimum six years of related legal experience, ten years preferred

Consistent demonstration of superior technical expertise
Consistent demonstration of Crown Castle leadership qualities
Demonstrated mastery of subject matter
Demonstrated ability to work independently, problem solve and make decisions

Other Skills/Abilities

Thorough knowledge of legal research and writing techniques

Basic knowledge of real estate, contract and business law

Ability to negotiate and draft contracts and business letters

Telecommunications experience useful

Ability to work independently

Ability to work with individuals of diverse background, personalities and opinions

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Superior communication and interpersonal skills – written and verbal

Organizational Relationship

Reports to: VP Litigation

Title(s) of direct reports (if applicable): Paralegal, Legal Assistant

Working Conditions: Works in a normal office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
