Family Central, Inc. is looking a Home Instruction for Parents of Pre-School Youngsters (HIPPY) Home Visitor. In this position, you will teach parents how to become their child's first teacher. This is a part-time field position working up to 24 hours weekly. Our office is located in North Miami at 10800 Biscayne Blvd. We are looking for a bilingual (Eng/Spanish or Eng/Creole candidate who can work with our diverse population in Miami-Dade.
High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Six months of experience working with children and/or families required or if actively enrolled or having completed a HIPPY program may substitute for the six months of experience.
Must be a parent in the community with a three, four or five year old child (or know a child to role-play HIPPY with) or be a parent who has completed HIPPY.
Must be computer literate.
Must be comfortable with home visits.
A valid Florida Driver's License, reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance required.
Able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends in order to meet the needs of our clients.
Able to perform in an empowered environment by working collaboratively with other professionals, personnel and direct service providers.
Must be familiar and comfortable working with diverse populations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides services for HIPPY participants (parent and child) in the home, at group meetings, and special events.
Provides interim-services to participants, who may otherwise have to be inactive, during periods of staff recruitment.
Recruits parents to participate in the program.
Enters home visit progress, home visit scheduling, and relevant case documentation in the client file accurately.
Completes and submits program measurement tools at required trigger points.
Completes and submits weekly billing documentation and submits change in participate demographic or level of activity as needed.
Attends required HIPPY staff meetings weekly and HIPPY advisory committee meetings.
Enters client data in MIS HIPPY database.
Assists with data collection, reporting and other office/clerical requirements as directed by the HIPPY Coordinator.
Participates in all HIPPY sponsored activities.
