Construction Project Manager (Commercial Construction)

Vericon Construction Company, a rapidly expanding General Contracting/Construction Management firm headquartered in Mountainside, NJ with offices in NC, FL and GA, is looking for a qualified Commercial Construction Project Manager in the Greater Washington, DC Area (DC / MD / VA) to grow and manage our DC market.

Job Description:

Vericon Project Managers are responsible for marketing, securing and managing multiple construction projects consistent with Vericon’s typical project portfolio in the private commercial sector and eventually developing a team to run the work.

The Project Manager will be involved in all aspects of running DC jobs including estimating, business development, marketing, staffing, budget control, cost control, strategy and the execution of all commercial construction projects in Greater Washington, DC Area (DC / MD / VA) while ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals. This position offers significant opportunity for career advancement.

Our typical projects range from renovations / interior fit-outs to ground up 1-2 story buildings in the financial, corporate, healthcare, and retail markets. Our corporate office has completed numerous projects in the Greater Washington, DC Area but due to increasing demand, we want to establish a local presence for our clients.

The Project Manager is the face of our team in the DC / NOVA areaand is responsible for creating awareness of Vericon’s brand in the Greater Washington, DC Area. The Project Manager will be responsible for building relationships with clients and the local A/E/C community.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Business Development including maintaining existing client base and developing new connections
  • Overall client satisfaction, project quality, cost control, contract administration, and schedule adherence
  • Communicate regularly with owners, property managers, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
  • Manage bid process including estimating and providing proposals to clients
  • Recruiting, hiring, managing, and maintaining office staff, field staff and subcontractor base across the Greater Washington, DC Area
  • Conform to applicable corporate policies and procedures and uphold ethical standards
  • Monitor and enforce the company’s safety program
  • Interact with other departments throughout Vericon’s footprint to obtain support and resources
  • Lead regular project and staff meetings and provide reporting to Executive Team


  • A construction-related degree or equivalent technical training is required
  • 10+ years of experience managing private, commercial construction
  • 5+ years of experience in the Greater Washington, DC Area
  • Significant leadership experience managing a staff
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interact and collaborate at all levels
  • Excellent communication skills
  • This position requires a self-motivated individual that is enthusiastic, confident, organized and able to thrive in a high-volume, deadline driven work environment
  • Flexibility to travel as needed to projects and clients
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project; Hands-on experience with Sage Timberline is preferred
