Position Summary
The Matthews' lab is dedicated to identifying and examining the complex relationships between genetics, education, and bioethics. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant (RA) to join our team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research projects in social science, psychology, bioethics, and philosophy.
Responsibilities
Conducting Qualitative and Quantitative Research:
- Assist in designing research studies and methodologies.
- Collect, organize, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
- Utilize statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R) for data analysis.
- Interpret and summarize research findings.
Literature Review:
- Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to inform research projects.
- Synthesize and summarize relevant literature.
- Stay updated on current research trends and developments in the field.
Conference Organization:
- Assist in the planning and organization of conferences, seminars, and workshops.
- Coordinate logistics, including venue selection, scheduling, and participant communication.
- Prepare conference materials, presentations, and promotional materials.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support as needed.
- Assist with grant writing and project proposals.
- Collaborate with team members on various research tasks and projects.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred.
- Previous experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods preferred.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, STATA).
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Prior experience in conference organization is a plus.
