Purpose of Position:
With broad scope for the exercise of independent initiative and judgment, is responsible for non-medical functions relating directly to patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Assists in planning and organizing the operations of the Department of Admissions; performs related work.
Examples of Typical Tasks:
1.Responsible for the performance of all admissions functions including liaison between the Admissions Officeand the Medical-Surgical staff; liaison with the hospital support staff including Medical Records, Housekeeping,Dietary and Nursing relating to the scheduling of admissions, bed availability and utilization.
2.Establishes operational goals, record management and forms control and informational programs.
3.Conducts departmental management studies, including studies of organization, methods and procedures.
4.Makes recommendations regarding modifications and improvement of systems.
5.Responsible for the prompt and accurate completion of all admission and preadmission forms.
6.Supervises collection of data on condition and status of patients.
7.Maintains patient roster and control of visitors.
1. A Baccalaureate Degree issued upon the completion of a four-year course in Business Administration or related discipline from an accredited college and one year of full-time experience in a progressively responsible supervisory or administrative position, performing admissions duties, in a hospital or similar institution with one-hundred-and-fifty or more beds; or,
2. High school Diploma or evidence of having passed an examination for a High School Equivalency Diploma plus five years of full-time experience as described in (1) above; or,
3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Pay: $40,765.00 - $100,000.00 per year
