Wittenberg University's Nursing Department is seeking a new colleague in medical/surgical and critical care nursing beginning August 2021. This is a full-time, Professor of Practice appointment that may be renewed annually. The primary responsibilities for this position will include teaching in the undergraduate program, supervision of clinical experiences, curriculum development, and some expectation of research/EBP and service. The successful candidate will primarily teach undergraduate critical care and medical/surgical courses. The successful candidate will be expected to supervise undergraduate clinical experiences and may serve on honors student thesis committees. The department will give special consideration to candidates who have a background in medicine/surgical and/or critical care.

For this position, we require that candidates have a Master's degree in nursing. This can include an MSN degree, or an MS degree with an emphasis in Nursing as designated on the university/college diploma and transcript. A Doctoral degree is preferred. Previous professional experience of at least two years in the practice of nursing is required. Prior experience in the role of nursing faculty is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience as a medical/surgical or critical care nurse. Must hold a current unrestricted and unencumbered RN licensure in the State of Ohio or be eligible for such. We are looking not only for evidence of teaching effectiveness and relevant work experience to share with our nursing students, but also for dedication to academic preparation, knowledge of best instructional practices, a commitment to nursing education, and evidence of excellent team membership.
