Apartment List is looking for a data-driven and technical Director of Performance Marketing, to own and unify our digital acquisition strategy, diversify the channel mix, and oversee an exceptional team of two and $30M budget. As the Director of Performance Marketing, you will lead and develop a breakthrough digital marketing strategy to build our demand and accelerate our growth. This role will report directly to the VP of Marketing and regularly interact with senior stakeholders.
Priorities:
- Create a vision that unifies our digital advertising strategy across core platforms including Google, Facebook, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, & Pinterest
- Diversify and scale channels – optimize spend on existing channels while testing and proving new ones
- Be creative and strategic in identifying new channels and their data points
- Build a testing roadmap and workflows that can be applied in new channels
- Efficiently and scalably acquire new customers in a sustainable, responsible manner
- Create strategic solutions around attribution and incrementality
- Partner with analytics teams on attribution, incrementality, propensities and marketing trends
- Communicate overall performance to senior leadership, and develop opportunities for additional investment
- Direct, manage and mentor a mighty team of two responsible for the strategy, execution and ROAS of Paid Search, Social and App campaigns
- Deliver on goals, and optimize performance with measurable, results-oriented decision making
- Work with in-house engineering and analytics teams to drive the technical roadmaps for automation, optimisation and personalization
- Work with other business leaders in Retention Marketing, Design, Product, Brand Marketing, Finance and Growth Analytics to improve user experience, lower customer acquisition costs, improve retention, and drive LTV
- Key focuses will be on improving reactivation user flows and improving the predictive User Value model to determine optimal CAC
Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be successful:
- 7+ years of experience managing paid program channels including SEM and display on Google and Bing, paid social (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube)
- You have 2+ years of managing a team and are invigorated by mentoring and leading
- You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and understand how to mobilize the team across disciplines and keep stakeholders informed
- You have experience managing a large budget of $40M+
- You are a proven marketer that drives positive ROI by optimizing CPA, LTV, ROAS with a never-ending appetite to optimize bidding/targeting/audience strategies
- Significant positive contribution to scaling growth / retention numbers at a similar stage company
- Experience with key marketing analytics tools such as google analytics, google tag manager etc.
- Excellent analytical skills and strong vision and strategy
- Exceptional Excel skills and strong SQL experience
Pay Range
At Apartment List, we carefully consider a variety of factors to determine compensation for each position, including the role, level, and work. The US base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $210,000 + bonus + equity, which reflects the compensation target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Please note, the compensation details reflect base salary only and do not include bonus, benefits, and perks that we offer.
We also rely on market indicators along with considering your work location, job related skills, experience and relevant education and training, to determine compensation that is fair and competitive for you. Apartment List will consider paying compensation near the higher of the range in exceptional circumstances, where candidates have the experience, credentials or expertise that would warrant such consideration.
