The Tissue Group, a division of Cascades, is the second-largest tissue producer in Canada and the fifth-largest in North America. The Division manufactures, converts and markets a huge selection of paper products, such as hand towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, napkins, paper towels, wipers and dispensers for the North American away-from-home and consumer products markets. The Group has more than 2,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing plants, nine conversion plants and four plants with both manufacturing and conversion facilities.

Your challenge!

Cascades, IFC in Brownsville, TN is seeking an aspiring HR Professional to train and develop in its HR Succession Program. As HR Manager in Succession, you will be an HR Manager in Training involved in the day-to-day Human Resources responsibilities of that location, and exposed to complex situations to build the critical skillset of employee relations and stewardship of the Cascades' strategic mission. The goal of the Succession program is to develop the selected candidate into a full charge HR Manager. Candidates should be flexible to traveling to other mills during their development to support and diversify their skills.

Job Responsibilities
The HR Manager in Succession will perform a wide variety of human resources administrative and general office duties to become familiar with the role of HR Manager in Cascades, and to become familiar with the primary unit to which they will report.

Responsibilities will include:
Aiding in recruitment for production and maintenance technicians and some exempt salaried roles
Management of the temporary workforce and temp agency relations.
Conduct onboarding and new hire orientations.
Payroll, benefit, and HR data reporting and analysis.
Processing employee payroll submissions and tracking annual allowances.
Management of employee recognition programs.
Coordinate company and employee engagement events.
Special projects and employee relations initiatives as assigned
Up to 25% travel expectancy both domestic and international (Canada)
Desired experience

Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business desired
Minimum of 3 years of HR experience is preferred (can be a combination of coursework and professional work experience)
Demonstrated ability to complete tasks on time, manage multiple deadlines and provide great customer service
Demonstrated ability to work with and maintain confidential information
Experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel is essential
Experience with Leave of Absence management including FMLA, disability and workers comp
Exposure to timekeeping programs, i.e., Kronos, Ultipro or similar
Working knowledge of HRIS systems
Experience with employee relations issues desired
Technical competencies
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, Excel and other systems and platforms)
Phone and email ettiquette
Ability to troubleshoot issues when needed and problem solve.
