Your Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a true Internal Communications subject matter expert to drive our overall strategic message. This role will partner with Marketing, HR and senior leadership to align the communications strategy to ensure a consistent and impactful message for employees and leadership.
In this role, you will:
Develop and manage overall internal strategic communications for IBM – including industry events, conferences and other opportunities.
Manage a team of Communications Professionals.
Partner with the Senior Leadership team to ensure a consistent message to employees and other internal customers.
Provide subject matter expertise related to internal communication impacting executive leadership, major news announcements, and large scale company endeavors.
Manage overall messages and methods – ensuring success through measurement – surveys, focus groups, etc.
Liaise with other teams for message alignment – Marketing, HR, etc.
Drive the successful delivery of goals while managing cross-organizational and cross-functional teams
Successful candidates will have:
Significant experience as a Lead Internal Communications expert – preferably in a tech environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to develop and execute multiplatform communications strategies.
Proven success working with senior level executives on messaging and internal communication to staff, other departments, business units, etc.
Ability to think creatively, approach communications with a fresh perspective and manage cross functionally essential.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
At least 8 years of experience as an Internal Communications expert
At least 3 years managing/leading communications teams
At least 3 years of experience working with senior level executives on messaging and internal communication to staff, other departments, and business units.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
At least 8 years of experience in a tech environment as an Internal Communications expert
