The Hearing and Speech Assistant assists in the speech and audiology testing of patients. You will perform screenings on newborns, under supervision, and maintain documentation of all patients in database.
Prepares test and therapy rooms and material for speech pathologists and audiologists.
Performs electro-acoustic analyses of hearing aids.
Performs minor repairs of hearing aids.
Performs inpatient and outpatient newborn hearing screening under supervision of audiologist.
Assists audiologists with pediatric hearing tests.
Creates ear mold impressions under supervision of the audiologist.
Documents encounters in patient database. Downloads and prints test results from computerized audio logical and speech pathology test equipment.
Assists dispensary secretary with orders and maintaining inventory.
Provides clerical support as needed.
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Two years of college with course work in speech, language development, audiology, psychology, child development, education or related field.
Basic computer skills, essential; ability to operate computerized test equipment (with training), data entry, and work processing.
Experience working with infants and young children preferred.
