Position Information
This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position anticipated to end on or before 6/30/2019, with the possibility of reappointment and/or permanency. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.

Reporting to the Director of Data Management, the Data Integrity Operator supports the goals of the division by ensuring the timely and accurate processing, verification and lookup of biographic, demographic, and academic records as well as supporting other business and administrative activities of the Data Management unit – including monitoring and maintaining data integrity. This position requires an individual who is detail oriented who can learn and comprehend a complex database with highly detailed policies and procedures. In an environment that is driven by data and information, this position is critical to the success of the universities fundraising efforts.

Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $3,131 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $2,846 - $4,998 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.

These qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills

Experience working in a higher education or advancement environment performing data entry tasks.
Knowledge of database management, fundraising software and fundraising methods in a higher education or advancement environment will be helpful.
Experience with Ellucian Advance Web is preferred.
Two years office experience using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and relational databases.
Knowledge of data entry principles and good keyboarding skills.
Ability to work extensively with details, with accuracy and speed including good spelling and proofreading skills.
Knowledge of data integrity principles.
Ability to manage simultaneous tasks.
Ability to effectively communicate and work with team-mates, interact with customers in a friendly professional manner, and respond quickly and appropriately to customer requests.
Ability to learn and utilize various software tools and data sources in enhancing the integrity, consistency and accuracy of data.
Ability to prioritize work and adhere to deadlines.
Ability to follow established procedures and special instructions when completing tasks.
Ability to work with highly confidential information.
Strong analytical skills for use in analyzing data, refining processes, and implementing automation
