Under minimal supervision, this position leads the development and implementation of the Strategic Marketing Functions for the US Retina business unit through Key Opinion Leader Identification and Development, advisory feedback activities and non-personal promotion opportunities. This position will build relationships with key opinion leaders and interact with national and regional societies and organizations to gain insight into the market and competition.
As a member of the marketing team, this individual will align with US brand strategy and collaborate with Sales and Marketing stakeholders in both the management and development of KOLs, advisors, and consultants.
This individual implements promotional education through speaker identification, speaker training and program management.
Responsible for continually gathering timely feedback on program execution and response to key initiatives to enhance execution and identify new program development opportunities.
Provides content feedback for peer to peer initiatives and promotional programs.
Maintains responsibility for: identifying agency and vendor collaborative opportunities; management of agency and vendor relationships to deliver upon content output; meeting deadlines and budget adherence.
Ensures adherence to legal guidelines with all medical education, scientific literature and other tools to educate physician community.
Effectively maintains budgets and maintains financial accountability.
Leads the development and implementation of the Strategic Marketing Functions for the US Retina business unit through Key Opinion Leader Identification and Development, advisory feedback activities and non-personal promotion opportunities.
Develops effective promotional mix: Ensures tactics are consistent with strategies and legal guidelines utilize medical education, scientific literature and other appropriate tools to educate physician community and interaction with field sales and the customers.
Responsible for Strategic Communications Activities as major meetings including peer to peer education, advisory feedback, and KOL engagement and advocacy.
Develop, analyze and monitor Strategic Communications budgets and expenses.
It is preferred for this position to be located in Irvine CA; however the position is open to a field based/home based location with up to 50% travel.
3-5 years Strategic Communications management experience
Experience in buy and bill therapeutic or surgical device markets
Experience in professional agency and vendor management.
Supervisory experience a plus
Ability to travel, a minimum of 40%, including some weekends
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS), in related field, from four-year College or university; Advanced degree desired
