Role Summary:
Allied Alarm Services, Inc. is seeking self-motivated individuals with strong technical aptitude and good communications skills for the position of Security & Fire Alarm System Technician. As a crucial member of our organization, you will be responsible for performing service/installation of access control, intrusion alarm, video surveillance systems, fire alarm and other various security related systems.
Pay Range: $17- $35 per hour (based on experience and certifications)
Shift: Full-Time (Monday – Friday, 8 am – 4:30pm)
On Call Rotations: Must be available for scheduled “on-call” to respond to emergency service calls (evenings and weekends)
About the Position:
- Perform installation and service of access control, intrusion alarm, CCTV, fire alarm, and other various security related systems.
- Evaluate, diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs as necessary.
- Perform upgrades and additions to systems to increase functionality utilization.
- Ability to read and grasp the project documents and work orders given.
- Plan wire runs to maximize time and material efficiency.
- Perform fire alarm inspections in accordance with NFPA 72 guidelines.
- Follow troubleshooting guidelines and refer to technical/parts manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc. in order to diagnose & repair equipment or systems.
- Exhibit effective customer service skills by consistently communicating with office personnel, sales consultants, and customers to ensure complete customer satisfaction experience.
- Complete monthly vehicle reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
- Attend training classes when offered.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in technical field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in low voltage systems
- Ability to travel as required
- Excellent communication
- Valid/clean driver’s license
- All employees are required to be fingerprinted and registered with New York State
Preferred Qualifications:
- NICET Certification
- NFPA Certification
