Natural Language Processing (NLP) Engineer
Security Clearance Requirement: Current Top Secret with polygraph
Aperio Global is hiring a mid-level Software Engineer to provide support to a federal government program providing full life cycle development for data development, database operations, and data analytics for Natural Language Processing. Qualified candidates will have experience developing applications that ingest data from multiple sources. Experience working with micro-service-based applications is highly desired.
This is a full-time position offering excellent benefits.
Work with a talent team of developers and data scientists exposing non-standard data through APIs and web applications, particularly REST APIs using AJAX.
Support Natural Language Processing (NLP) including OCR, information extraction, and indexing.
Stretch your technical capabilities to work across as much of the full stack as you are able for cloud-based operations, ETL, database operations, analytics, front end work, and technology evaluation.
Current Top Secret clearance and polygraph.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, Data Science, or related field. Additional years of experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
Mid-level experience (5+ years) providing development and data services in a government environment.
Experience supporting Agile development is required. Experience in a SecDevOps environment is preferred.
Full stack development experience or the ability to expand your IT acumen.
Experience with ETL, database operations, and data analytics.
Experience with SQL database management.
Strong Java development experience using v8 or later.
Front-end development experience is a plus.
Experience developing in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment.
Hands-on development supporting data through APIs and web application.
Prior experience with common services, drop-in UI components, and deep linking is desired.
Experience with information extraction such as regex, entities, sentiment, geotags, topic, events, etc.
Experience supporting interfaces and working with tools for big data such as R, Python, Hive, or Pig, particularly for Natural Language Processing (NLP) or Machine Learning (ML).
Experience establishing NiFi data flows is highly desired.
Prior work with Systems Administration in an AWS environment is desired.
Experience with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK) or Solr.
