The Opportunity

Marin General Hospital (MGH) currently has an exciting opportunity for a Talent Acquisition Specialist who will manage full lifecycle recruiting, and assist with the design, development and execution of all aspects of Talent Acquisition (TA) programs for the organization. The role is a highly strategic and collaborative partner to the TA leader, hiring leaders and stakeholders across the organization – with the ability to positively influence and impact the acquisition of top talent. The Specialist will analyze and recommend strategic recruitment solutions for meeting changing business needs and is responsible for the delivery of such services.

S/he will have ownership over assigned recruitment including working with executives to map their department’s growth plans, developing and driving the talent strategy, and using data for continuously improvement. This role is ideal for someone who is driven by helping others succeed, passionate about TA, and looking for an opportunity to meaningfully improve healthcare.

The Role

Manage full lifecycle recruitment. This includes oversight of the job posting process (e.g. Taleo), applicant screening/interview/selection process, coordinating the pre- and post-job offer, and ensuring a best-in-class onboarding experience.
Responsible for identifying, evaluating and making recommendations (including diversity outreach, community groups, social media, and job fairs) and drives the production of recruitment marketing campaigns.
Collaborate with Management to develop and implement new or more efficient and effective TA programs or policies to meet recruitment needs and trends
Provide an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience. Advise and counsel hiring managers on hospital’s policies and procedures for recruitment and employment. Maintain positive, responsive, and timely relationships with hiring managers regarding: recruitment strategies and needs, salary issues, hospital employment practices and procedures, and union contract interpretation
Advise employees regarding transfer procedures and processes requests according to hospital policies and procedures
Administers employee referral and sign-on bonus programs, ensuring that any payments are within established program guidelines and made in an accurate and timely fashion
Administers recruitment database (Taleo), maintains files and records of recruitment activities, including job postings, requisition tracking, employment costs, current applications, special efforts conducted, applicant flow data, etc.
Ensures accurate and current records of applicants not hired are maintained for future reference and regulatory compliance. Assists with research and preparation of response to regulatory inquiries related to recruitment and hiring.
Establishes recruitment processes to ensure compliance with California State RN/Patient Staffing Ratios
Analyzes trends and provides regular reports related to recruitment, time to fill, quality of sources, demographics, etc.
Represents the company at external events, including job fairs, networking events, and health care related conferences
Participate in the development of cutting edge processes, technology and overall solutions to improve and enhance the recruiting process

Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence all levels of the organizations
Strong knowledge of the labor market and knowledge of all laws relevant to the recruitment, hiring and employment process. Proven track record of successfully filling a large volume of open positions (e.g., 100+ annually) under short time frames.
Proficient in behavioral interviewing techniques
Experience sourcing, screening and making recommendations for hire
Demonstrated ability to search and source for difficult to fill positions in a health care setting. Ability to be creative with sourcing that is targeted and relationship focused. Comfortable making recommendations to the leadership team on recruiting sources.
Experience in analyzing recruiting needs, formulating a strategy to meet needs and implementing strategies/plans.
Strong analytical skills. Must have sufficient experience with basic statistics, Excel and other report writing software to produce employment related reports as required, and to also complete statistical analysis as needed
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate with applicants and various Hospitals and outside personnel when conducting interviews, contacting employment agencies, and providing consultation to Hospital management regarding the employment process
Analytical skills necessary in order to evaluate applicants, implement strategies, assess hospital staffing needs, and interpret laws and regulations applicable to the recruitment and employment process
Ability to read, interpret and apply hospital policy or union contract language to the hiring process, ensuring compliance with hospital policy and/or union contracts
Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment to determine and/or develop appropriate procedures and methods to use in the absence of guidelines or technical assistance from superiors and make, or significantly influence staffing decisions that could have significant financial and operational impact

Minimum 3-5 years of recruiting experience with a proven track record of delivering stellar candidate and hiring manager experience
Minimum 1-2 years of recruiting experience for licensed healthcare and clinical professionals is required
Proven track record of sourcing, engaging and hiring passive talent
A bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. HR management and business administration), or a combination of education and/or relevant work experience required. Certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) is a strong plus.
LinkedIn Recruiter proficiency is required
Experience with Taleo is preferred
