The Director assumes 24 hour accountability for the delivery of care in the cardiac Catherization, Electrophysiology labs, and holding area and is responsible for the administrative and clinical coordination of the lab. The Director ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of the department, the quality of tests and procedures and obtains maintenance service on equipment, performs quality assurance functions, trains staff, maintains policies and procedures that provide positive patient outcomes. The incumbent is responsible for the capital and operational budget of the department in collaboration with the AVP/ VP. The Director builds strong, collaborative relationships with physicians and hospital colleagues. He or she facilitates the growth and profitability of the cath/ EP lab. Adopts guidelines established by VBMC to maintain financial viability and promote quality services to the community it serves. The Director will carry out the mission, vision and values while overseeing the strategic planning, clinical management, patient care, budgeting, financial management and quality management in the department.
Education: Requires basic knowledge of nursing in addition to a B.A., B.S. or B.B.A. degree with a major in nursing, healthcare administration, public health administration, or business administration . Graduate of accredited school of Nursing. Master's Degree, preferred.
Experience: Requires a minimum of 3 years relevant Cath Lab experience; an advanced knowledge of Cath Lab procedures and processes, as well as consistently meeting or exceeding all criteria of the staff nurse/RCIS/CS; 2 years management experience required and current CPR/BLS certification. National certification is specialty area preferred
License: Current New York State R.N. license.
