General Summary of Position
The incumbent in this position escorts patients and transports items between patient units and ancillary departments. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Education

Experience

Previous hospital or patient care experience preferred

Good written and verbal communication skills.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Obtains supplies/equipment/medications, as needed, from appropriate departments and transports to nursing units.

Obtains
- Utilizes communication devices (bellboy, walkie-talkie) to respond to requests for service, and maintains all devices in proper working condition at all times.

Communicates appropriate information to patients, staff, and visitors.

Maintains a safe environment for patients during all phases of transportation.

Exemplifies Guest and Staff Relations standards in all activities.
