JOB TITLE: Instrument/Maintenance Technician FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
SUPERVISOR’S TITLE: Maintenance Manager
General Summary: Responsible for anticipating, diagnosing and repairing all areas of the facility along with any other tasks necessary to complete such work with a specialty in electrical/instrumentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, calibrates and test a wide variety of industrial instrumentation that records, indicate, control and regulate level, flow, pH, pressure, temperature, position and control systems.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must possess good communication skills, time-management skills, multi-tasking, detail-oriented, problem solving skills, good judgment, computer literacy, safety and security knowledge. Ability to handle pressure when there is an upset in the process. Experience with installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems/equipment. Knowledge with 110/220/480 V, switchgear/motor control centers, variable frequency drives. Instrumentation (4-20 mA and 0-10 VDC) and ability to read and understand blueprints and ladder logic. Knowledgeable of NEC & NFPA codes and regulations. Knowledge of PLC & DCS programmable logic controllers and man machine interface (HMI) software and hardware a plus. Knowledgeable in control loop theory and application; variable speed drives (VFD), and associated components. Ability to weld, torch, pump alignment, material handling systems, and fork-lift experience. Able to bend/install conduit and pull power and control wiring. Great communication skills and problem-solving skills needed. Knowledge of equipment including pumps, generators and electric motors.
Education and Experience: Engineering degree, Technical Degree, or 2-5 years of related experience. Prior maintenance experience is helpful. Mechanical Aptitude. Experience in configuration, calibration, installation, checkout, commission, application, specification, maintenance, electrical construction, and/or troubleshooting industrial instrumentation and valves.

Working Conditions: Work areas may have exposure to dust and other particles, various weather conditions, various temperatures, load noises, vibrations and other extremes. Must be able to work safely with exposure to chemicals and while working with heavy moving machinery.
