Job Summary:
The Lead Quality Engineer for Cree Morgan Hill, CA will support quality management activities: working on Quality Management System, supporting Audit activities, supporting technology and product qualifications. This individual will also lead key quality activities for continuous improvement.

What can you do for our company?

You will be part of the Quality Management Team supporting the Radio Frequency (RF) Power business line, and in this role you will:

Represent Quality Management for technology projects.
Lead and support overall QM support activities (audits, quality management system, problem solving).
Initiate and drive continuous improvement activities / programs.
Support information and documentation of product quality related topics for customers.
Improve quality related processes.
Monitor quality criteria and the adherence to quality assurance risk management procedures.
Define and run quality and risk reporting systems. Contribute to the development of adequate quality measurements.
Evaluate failures from reliability stress tests and provide expertise (physics of failure, failure analyses, failure mechanisms (ESD, TDDB, Radiation, etc.) and defect modelling.
Support Life-time prediction requests according to application profiles: MTTF, MTBF, Weibull plots…
Lead product reliability qualifications, make conclusions and issue reports regarding results and fulfillment according to internal requirements (time and costs acc. agreed qualification plan) for new and changed products.
Proactive and reactive customer support (Problem Solving incl. crisis management).
Contribute to the development of adequate quality measurement criteria and establishing and harmonizing quality assurance objectives, policies and operating procedures, including risk management.
Lead risk assessments and drive decisions on risk releases to customer.

What you need for success:
You are best equipped for the role if you have the following profile:

MS required (or 20 years equivalent experience), PhD preferred in related field e.g. Electronic Engineer with knowledge in Semiconductor Industry.
10 years of experience in related field
Knowledge in audit activities (ISO9001 and IATF standard).
Experience in quality management, reliability, failure mechanism, life time stress test, product qualification, failure analysis (familiar with JEDEC standards).
Strong communication skills, teamwork oriented, data analysis, statistical methods.
MS Office skills required (Excel, Word…).

Highly preferred skills and certifications:
Knowledge in calculation the life expectancy (data analysis).Knowledge in LDMOS and GaN technologies. Experience with RF would be a plus.
Certified auditor (ISO9001)
Chinese language would be a plus
