The City of Manassas Information Technology Department is seeking an individual that is passionate about GIS and data to join Manassas' Enterprise GIS Group. The successful candidate will assist multiple departments by developing ESRI Web Maps & Apps, creating printed maps, writing and maintaining Python code, and querying and understanding data relationships across multiple SQL databases. Seeking an organized individual with a strong ability to multitask and interact with citizens, vendors, and other departments.
The hiring range for this position is: $58,801.60 - $77,916.80.
GIS duties including creating/maintaining GIS Web Maps & Apps (usually template driven), working with and maintaining SQL databases, maintaining and creating new GIS data layers, and performing GIS analysis (e.g., spatial & network analysis).
The candidate will utilize ArcGIS 10.5 or higher with Enterprise and File Geodatabases to prepare high quality maps and perform analysis. Will utilize Relationship Classes, Topologies, Spatial Analyst, and Network Analyst. Will work with ArcGIS Enterprise (ArcGIS Server) to manage Versioned data. Will perform training and software installs as needed. Will assist users in solving GIS systems and analytical problems. Experience with ArcGIS Pro 2.0+ is a plus.
The candidate will also develop ESRI-based Web Maps and Web Apps for on-premise and/or ArcGIS Online solutions. Will create and deploy ESRI Collector solutions for multiple departments and end-users. Will utilize the ESRI Local or State Government Model as needed. Will review and create new Python code to manage routine, repetitive tasks (e.g., jobs that run overnight) or large data tasks.
The individual selected for this role will work with departments across the City to create GIS and data-driven solutions to daily business challenges.

Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; supplemented by 2-3 years programming (Python or similar) and analysis experience in a complex information system with ESRI's GIS Software Suite; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
