What is the FTIS business responsible for?
Franklin Templeton Investment Solutions (FTIS) combines expertise in quantitative factor-based equity and customized asset allocation strategies with industry-leading fundamental asset allocation. FTIS has a strong global presence and is investing in a best-in-class solutions platform to deliver an expanded range of investment capabilities to clients.
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join the Strategy Management & Analytics team to support the development and growth of the Goals Based Digital Solutions business.
The Strategy Management & Analytics team is responsible for the delivery of FTIS strategic projects and provides data driven business performance insights to support management oversight. The Goals Based Digital Solutions business is in the process of building an industry leading goals-based advice platform and capability.
The Senior Project Manager will manage multiple requests for enhancements and new client on boardings and will be responsible for ensuring project objectives are achieved with high quality and business value is delivered. The role will require working closely with multiple stakeholders within FTIS, Franklin Templeton Distribution teams and other functions.
The successful candidate will be well versed in Agile techniques, able to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels and demonstrate leadership to resolve issues.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Senior Project Manager?
Act as the single point of contact for the Goals Based Digital Solutions team and take responsibility for the planning, directing, and coordinating projects ensuring goals and objectives are accomplished successfully and customer/business needs are met.
Manage the “Book of Work” on behalf of the team including managing the prioritization process ensuring the needs of all stakeholders are considered and communicating the output to support the allocation of resources in line with priorities.
Manage the implementation of projects from establishing project schedules, managing sprint iterations, and monitoring initiatives through to delivery. Maintain key deliverables and track milestone across projects.
Submit funding requests to support the Book of Work, track & report ongoing spend vs budget and investigate variances.
Participate in solution delivery continuous improvement activities and communities of practice to address ongoing needs for the project professional community.
Champion rapid value delivery leveraging agile, iterative development practices and techniques.
Provide tailored communications to audiences ranging from team discussions to executives briefings.
What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone be successful?
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
5+ years investment management industry with a good understanding of investment management processes and products.
5+ years of project management experience and a track record of successfully leading and delivering mid/large scale cross functional projects and demonstrating:
Strong focus on delivering business value with excellent organization & planning skills.
Interpersonal skills and experience of working within and managing diverse global teams.
Engagement and management of senior internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency of monitoring & measuring project delivery.
Budget preparation and financial management skills.
Communication and negotiation skills.
Management of 3rd party vendors.
Relevant certifications would be an advantage, for example:
Agile – Certified Disciplined Agilist or Practitioner (Preferred), or Scrum certifications.
Project Management Professional – PMI.
Understanding of client facing technology, infrastructure, data management and/or programming experience would be an advantage.
