Join CSRA and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The Personnel Modernization (PersMod) program is seeking an Associate Linux Systems Administrator to join their team in New Orleans, LA.
The PersMod program provides the support, sustainment, upgrades, and modernization of personnel systems under the Navy's Integrated Personnel and Pay System (IPPS) strategy. Specifically it directly supports the Navy strategy to modernize, consolidate and retire legacy systems. The first major modernization will integrate and streamline the retirement and separation business processes for both officers and enlisted personnel.
Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers.
Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space.
Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery.
Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
Provide Assistance to Sr. LINUX Administrators performing the following functions: LINUX server deployment, optimization, application design / architecture, system upgrades and patching.
Assist Sr. System Administrators Troubleshoot and diagnose advanced LINUX server issues, including reliability issues, performance concerns, and software bugs.
Assist Sr. System Administrators in Performing DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) on systems as necessary.
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
0+ years; No professional experience is required but the selected candidate will have demonstrable internships and/or project experience related to some the following:
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Automation tools like Chef, Puppet or Ansible
UNIX shell scripting
US citizenship; must have an Interim Secret in order to start
Must be able to obtain a DOD 8570 IA Level II Certification (i.e. Security+ CE) within 90 days of start date.
