Role Summary:
The Sr Cyber Security Engineer is a dynamic role requiring knowledge of programming, security, and secure software development practices. The engineer will partner with existing development & cyber teams. Requires strong foundational skills and knowledge of relevant technologies in software development, automation, cloud technology and cyber security. You will be a member of an integrated team working to deliver successful outcomes around automation, risk & compliance, and data.

Essential Responsibilities:
In addition, the engineer will manage and build shared security libraries and tooling, train developers in secure coding practices, identify gaps in existing processes and tools, and enhance development toolsets.

In this role, you will:
Collaborate with software development and support teams during the design phase to build secure systems
Responsible for creating and implementing system, software and automation in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest cloud technologies and software development methods.
A leader for implementing and optimizing the Cyber Security & Technology Risk organizations public cloud products, including mitigation, remediation, and exceptions
Build and launch new security visibility, transformation and automated remediation capabilities across GE's cloud environments.
Support impact assessments and decisions related to automation, analytical and cloud choices; have a deep understanding of what data points are important and how to best use them to reduce cyber risks.
Partner with other Cyber Security and Technology Risk teams & product owners to solve problems, implement and sustain solutions; identify cloud trends and opportunities.
Look across multiple systems, understands the purpose of each system and defines cloud control requirements by systems; interact with product & system owners to execute projects and operational changes

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). A minimum 4 years of professional experience.

Desired Characteristics:
Working experience and familiarity with Information Security
A minimum of 2 year of experience using Scripting (Java, Go, Python or Ruby) is required
A minimum of 2 year of experience working with public cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Public Cloud) is required
A minimum of 1 year of experience working with SQL and multiple large datasets
Ability in managing and communicating cloud automation and security control plans to internal clients
Experience with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Public Cloud (e.g., Azure) and/or Public Cloud technology
Hands on experience designing and implementing solutions leveraging multiple services within cloud providers
Experience with Java, Go, Python or Ruby with preference for Python
Familiarity with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery technologies (i.e Jenkins, Travis CI, AWS Code Pipeline)
Familiarity with agile software development
Familiarity of source control tools such as CVS/SVN/Git, with preference for git
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs and product strategy

Technical Expertise:
Strong development background, with a focus on secure development and cloud technologies
Knowledge of API Security Architecture
Working knowledge of Cloud Provider security architecture design patterns
Great communication, team spirit, and leadership abilities
