The Role: Security Officer

Vivint requires the highest level of unarmed security to perform after-hours security services on nights weekends and holidays. Officers at all Vivint sites will be required to remain vigilant and conduct frequent patrols both on the interior and exterior of our facilities.

Officers must be professional, mature, and customer service oriented.

Officers will insure that all access points from the exterior are secured. Secured exterior and interior points will be checked throughout the shift to ensure security of personnel, property, and information.

All officers will become familiar with Emergency Evacuation routes, exits, and evacuation assembly stations. Officers will assist in both the notification process in an emergency and in evacuation. Officers will become an integral part of Vivint’s Emergency Response Plans during the hours they are on site.

Officers will be required to respond to all emergencies, security, safety, or medically related.

Officers will be Corporate Security’s after-hours eyes and ears.

Duties specified are not all inclusive and can be added to at the discretion of the Corporate Security Management team.

Pay and Work Hours:
Security Officer pay starts at $14/hr. Full Benefits are available for Full Time positions.
Shifts: Evening & Night Shifts on Weekdays. Day, Evening and Night Shifts on Weekends.

What you will be working on:
Officers will initially receive a high level of training as the join the Corporate security team.

Training will include but is not limited to:
All aspects of patrolling and response to safety, medical, and security situations
Necessary use of force
Proper Hygiene
Command Presence
Defensive tactics
In house technical resources
Basic investigation
Special event security
Verbal Judo and other similar de-escalation techniques
Non-Violent Crisis intervention
Emergency response
First Aid, CPR, AED (Certified)
Designated continued education as discussed with Corporate Security management.

Uniform: To ensure a professional officer presence officers will be required to wear their uniforms at all times while on duty.

All uniforms and equipment are to be kept in good repair. Minimally quarterly inspections will be conducted by Corporate Security Management.

Who you will work with:
Security Officers will report to the designated security specialist and the Corporate Security Manager. They will work closely with the overall Business Operations Protection Team and will interact with all departments across the company.

What we’re looking for:
Officers with prior law enforcement experience/training or a military background as well as officers with an educational background in a security related field should be given a preference when choosing Security Officers for Vivint sites.

Officers must show a demonstrated ability to provide great communication and customer service.

All Security Officers working for Vivint must meet specific physical capabilities to include:

Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Ability to walk continuously and be on feet for a minimum of an hour and up to the entire shift.
Ability to jog/run for short distances
Ability to climb stairs or ladders
Height and Weight must be properly proportioned
Binocular vision correctable to 20/30
Normal hearing- ability to hear ordinary conversation and whispered ones.
Officers must also have the ability to perform normal work functions that might require both moderate and difficult exertion.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
