BOOST is currently assisting a client in their search for a Senior Staff Accountant. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you would be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. The role is also responsible for many aspects of internal reporting, will support the development and implementation of accounting policies, play an active role in compliance, and collaborate with external accountants for quarterly and annual financial and tax filings.
Support the general accounting process for various functional areas, adhering to a monthly accounting close schedule.
Produce and prepare financial statements, cash flow projections, and budgets.
Prepare journal entries with referenced supporting documentation in accordance with best practices.
Conduct account analysis and research to ensure accuracy and understanding of account balances and activities.
Prepare various reconciliations, schedules, and reports. Use accounting knowledge to provide correcting entries to management for any reconciling items and works to minimize such discrepancies on a go-forward basis.
Complete monthly invoicing tasks ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of all client invoices.
Work with Company’s tax experts to provide reporting requirements and meet all deadlines for federal, state and local tax obligations.
Work with non-finance staff and vendors to ensure the effectives of the revenue operations process;
Prepare financial documents, as assigned.
Interact with various levels of staff to obtain information and/or resolve issues for assigned tasks and accounts.
Support the development and implementation of accounting policies, practices, and procedures.
Conduct administrative tasks such as A/P and A/R, as assigned, that require coordination across groups and/or functions.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a major in business, finance or accounting.
Minimum 5 years of demonstrated accounting experience or 10 years of experience without a degree.
Must be a US Citizen.
General knowledge with DCAA compliance.
Experience working with QuickBooks Online is highly desired.
Experience working with a government contractor is highly desired.
Ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance highly desired.

Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting and reporting standards.

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across diverse audiences and influence cross functionally within a remote team.
Ability to multi-task as well as be strategic, creative and innovative in a dynamic, fast paced matrix team environment.
Proven ability to complete goals/projects on time delivering high quality results.
Excellent computer skills with common office applications with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
