A high-growth Biotech operating in the Molecular Diagnostics market is expanding and looking for a strategic, upstream marketing professional to join their team. With consistent revenue growth for the last four years and the stock price hovering at an all-time high, this dynamic organization is adding a senior-level product marketer. They develop and market innovative clinical diagnostic tests for multiple disease states and serve the hospital and reference lab markets. The molecular segment of the IVD market is growing exponentially so they are investing in new technology, so if you are looking for a scientifically challenging marketing assignment with a growing organization on the leading edge of genomic research then this could be the opportunity for you.
In this high-profile assignment you will have the opportunity to lead the portfolio planning and product road-mapping activities for new molecular technology in the in-vitro diagnostics market. Duties include market research, Voice of Customer, forecasting, business case development, and product positioning. You will work closely with scientists on core product development teams to define target product profiles and specifications for new diagnostic tests. You will manage all upstream activities for assigned instruments, assays and kits, and complementing software products, bringing commercial direction to RD project teams that will ensure the organization is delivering products that satisfy marketplace needs.
Youll work within a cross-functional matrix structure, coordinating with colleagues from across the organization to support ongoing product launch plans, as well as to continue the discovery process for improvements to existing products. This is a small team, so you will wear many hats in this assignment. We need a high performer and an expert communicator who can efficiently distill critical information and work across many platforms to fulfill strategic objectives.
5+ years of marketing experience in the Molecular Diagnostics field for the clinical segment
Proficiency in representing the Voice of the Customer in new product planning activities and target product profiles for development stage diagnostic products
A Bachelors degree or better in the Life Sciences is required; an advanced degree in Business or Life Sciences is preferred
The compensation plan includes a competitive base salary plus incentive-plan bonus, and an attractive equity package. The position will be based in the San Diego, CA area. Financial assistance for relocation will be provided.
