Our Predictive Analytics team within the Real-World & Analytics Solutions (RWAS) Technology division is a fast growing group of collaborative, enthusiastic, and entrepreneurial individuals. In our never-ending quest for opportunities to harness the value of Real World Evidence (RWE), we are at the centre of IQVIA’s advances in areas such as machine learning and cutting-edge statistical approaches. Our efforts improve retrospective clinical studies, under-diagnosis of rare diseases, personalized treatment response profiles, disease progression predictions, and clinical decision-support tools.
We are looking for a creative, innovative, intellectually curious and entrepreneurial Predictive Analytics Principal to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of the world's leading RWE teams working with real world insights to help our clients answer specific questions globally, make more informed decisions and deliver results.
You will join this high profile team to work on ground-breaking problems in health outcomes across disease areas including Ophthalmology, Oncology, Neurology, Chronic diseases such as diabetes, and a variety of very rare conditions. The Predictive Analytics team work hand-in-hand with statisticians, epidemiologists and disease area experts across the wider global RWAS Solutions team, leveraging a vast variety of anonymous patient-level information from sources such as prescriptions, claims and electronic health records. The data encompasses IQVIA’s access to over 530 million anonymized patients as well as bespoke, custom partnerships with healthcare providers and payers.
This is an exciting role for a Principal who is keen to help shape and grow a high profile and highly motivated predictive analytics team at the cutting-edge of life science. You will be exposed to both tier 1 and emerging pharmaceutical clients, diverse disease areas, complex healthcare challenges and market-leading anonymized patient datasets. This is an unrivalled opportunity to accelerate your career in an exciting direction.
Your work will span four key areas:
You will assume a leadership role across a range of business development areas, playing a pivotal part in the ambitious and exciting growth agenda of the team. You will work closely with IQVIA’s diverse route to market channels (including client-aligned Principals and account managers) to identify and drive business opportunities for existing Predictive Analytics offerings. You will be responsible for designing high quality proposals to meet client business objectives, demonstrating innovation and pragmatism where appropriate, and maintaining a relentless client-focus throughout.
You will support the on-going development of the Predictive Analytics portfolio of offerings, identifying client needs which could be met through novel machine learning applications based on large-scale patient data. You will substantively contribute to all aspects of offering development (assuming ownership for significant segments), from design of the offering through scoping of the go-to-market strategy through roll-out and uptake of the offering.
You will oversee the design and delivery of advanced machine learning projects for US clients, such as developing algorithms to find undiagnosed patients with rare conditions. You will assume overall responsibility for the delivery of multiple projects, overseeing a talented team of dedicated Consultants and Data Scientists across multiple projects. Your role will typically be strategic, demonstrating critical thinking and ensuring that the solution design is fit-for-purpose. You will serve as a subject matter expert for problem escalation and resolution. You will typically not be involved in day-to-day delivery, though you will be called upon to support in this capacity from time-to-time.
You will bring your particular domain knowledge and expertise to the on-going efforts to standardise, automate and productize offerings, so that solutions are scientifically robust, scalable, provide outstanding value to clients and represent an excellent return on investment for IQVIA. Your unique contribution may flow from your deep knowledge of patient data (e.g. claims, prescriptions or EMR data), advanced machine learning methods, client business challenges or technical product management. Irrespective of the exact nature of your contribution, you will prioritize strategic thinking and the ways in which your particular expertise can shape aspects of solution design which promote the delivery of high quality at scale through the productization of offerings.
At IQVIA we appreciate and nurture individual talent. Therefore, the exact blend of responsibilities and individual career development with respect to the above areas will in part depend on the skill set and aspirations of the successful candidate.
Our ideal candidate:
- A highly successful and demonstrable track record of driving business opportunities which incorporate end-to-end ownership of complex solution designs.
- An ability to think strategically about commercial healthcare challenges and the ways in which these could be addressed through advanced machine learning applications based on large-scale patient data.
- Extensive experience leading the design and delivery of advanced statistical / machine learning projects in the commercial sector end to end with proven delivery capability including capturing requirements, designing analysis plans, interfacing with clients and writing reports / manuscripts.
- Extensive experience in a healthcare consulting environment.
- Excellent understanding of patient-level, longitudinal data such as insurance claims, EHR, etc., with demonstrable experience of delivering multiple projects using this type of data.
- A proactive, innovative and pragmatic approach to problem solving and an ability to think critically and independently.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including ability to present technical concepts to lay audiences, write proposals, pitch ideas effectively and persuasively to clients / internal stakeholders, etc.
- Flexible and adaptable in a client focused, results-driven environment.
- Familiarity with analysis of healthcare issues, particularly analytical issues relating to studies of treatment effectiveness, disease detection, therapy transitions, disease progression, adherence, healthcare utilization, etc.
Strong advanced statistical and / or machine learning knowledge is preferable. In the absence of this, a good understanding of when such methods can provide value, coupled with a willingness to upskill, is paramount.
