We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Lending Manager to join our team! This person is responsible for managing the overall functions in the Real Estate Lending Department including origination, processing, underwriting and funding, and selling in the secondary market. Also responsible for ensuring that such real estate operations are in accordance with established policies, procedures, state and federal legal and regulatory requirements, and result in maximum volume, appropriate profit, and minimum delinquency ratios while meeting or exceeding annual mortgage production goals.
Essential Functions Include:
Researches and implements product development efforts to enhance the real estate portfolio.
Builds effective partnerships with appraisers, title companies, and realtors nationwide, and for the vendor management of those partners.
Manages the mortgage pipeline and sales on the secondary market.
Assists the Chief Lending Officer in developing short and long-term goals and plans for the Real Estate Lending Department.
Ensures the Real Estate Lending staff is well trained, effective, and efficient.
Researches market trends and emerging technologies, and initiates system improvements in real estate and funding practices which will further the objectives of the Credit Union.
Directs training and cross training on analyzing mortgage application, making sound lending decisions on all aspects of real estate lending.
Develops departmental annual budget and production goals.
Underwrites and approves real estate loans within established policy and dollar limit, perform counseling, and refer exceptions to the Chief Lending Officer.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Five years in management with demonstrated leadership and management skills.
Five years experience in residential mortgage lending.
Thorough knowledge of residential mortgage lending policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Some knowledge of commercial lending policies, procedures, rules, and regulations a plus.
Strong strategic planning and organizational skills.
Well-developed time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong presentation skills.
Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position requires poise, tact, and diplomacy.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Must be able to be registered and obtain a unique identification number as a mortgage loan officer (MLO) on the NMLS list.
