A Day in the Life: Sterile Processing
Expected Starting Salary Range: 16.27 - 19.32
SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Cleans, wraps, sterilizes, stores and distributes equipment, supplies and instruments used in patient care.
SCOPE: To provide HLD (high level disinfection) and sterilized equipment and instruments for clinical and surgical procedures.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
Clean or decontaminate using manual or mechanical means, inspect and assemble instruments into trays, sterilize, select instruments and trays to assemble case carts.
Accurately records and reports malfunctioning equipment and damaged instrumentation, scopes and endo scopes and supplies, in order to ensure timely availability for customers
Contributes to the efficiency of daily work flow
- Quality and Process Improvement
Participates in quality assurance activities and lean/process improvement projects

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No directly related experience
