Job Description Details

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Distribution Supervisor, progresses a variety of products in accordance with department operating procedures and productivity standards. Responsible for the expedient and accurate Unloading, Picking, Packing, Replenishment, Consolidation, Put Away and Loading of merchandise, utilizing powered equipment and WMS System within the Distribution Center. Position is expected to be trained and have the ability to function in any department. Moves merchandise by hand, hand truck or powered equipment to maintain continuous flow of merchandise in conjunction with other material handling equipment such as conveyor belts, rails, etc. Regularly operates powered lift devices such as SP, PE, RC, TSP, etc. to move merchandise and materials around the distribution center. Provides quality undamaged product to customer. Promotes a team approach by cooperating with all staff at the distribution center to ensure customer orders are shipped within established time frames. Supports the QVC Difference in the performance of all job duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Receives pallets of product with pack slips. Examines and inspects product, containers, and materials in order to ensure packing within established guidelines.

Works on automated packing lines performing a variety of duties related to the operation of automated equipment.

Sets up and operates machines to build mailers/boxes (label collation, case erector, tape, glue dispenser, pick and place, load invoices).

Prepares package for shipment, initials pack list, stamps pack slips, affixes labels, tickets or tags, insert program guides, etc. Constructs the box, seals and applies label in proper position on package.

Removes completed or defective products or materials, placing them on moving equipment such as conveyors or in specified areas such as loading docks or staging locations.

Operates motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment to safely stage and move product throughout the distribution center.

Assists other fulfillment personnel as needed to ensure prompt shipment of customer orders within established department standards.

May operate a computer system and/or manual tracking of information to facilitate flow of merchandise.

Communicates daily production run schedule for line(s).

Supports packing team by expediting collates, product, packaging supplies and other necessary materials, as well as, researching packer problems for rectifying counts for extra pack slips or product.

Promotes a team approach by cooperating with all staff at the Distribution Center to ensure customer orders are packed and shipped within established timeframes.

Expediently and accurately Picks (Bin/Reserve) and Puts Away merchandise including Replenishment utilizing powered equipment within the Distribution Center.

Initiates transactions through the RF system to ensure that the correct merchandise has been electronically updated.

Identifies, separates, scans to pallet or bin, labels, palletizes, and wraps merchandise to maximize trailer or storage cube.

Completes inventory consolidations including the aged product Kill process.

Receives inbound freight using a hand held RF unit. Assists in the put away.

Maintains the supply of empty pallets and moves pallets to staging area.

Operates and monitors the dynamic scan/scale operation.

Maintains and operates the sorter, reporting any irregularities to Facilities and the supervisor.

Identifies issues with flow of product to trailers or gaylords and communicates with Console Operator.

Monitors the inducts and informs manifesting personnel when truck reaches capacity.

Promotes a team approach by cooperating with all staff at the distribution center to ensure customer orders are shipped within established timeframes.

Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

Adheres to all company safety, security, and attendance policies and procedures.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience is required
6+ Months distribution center experience required. 1 year distribution center experience preferred.
Intermediate level requires 3-5 years of experience.
Must meet equipment restrictions by height and weight.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE

Must have prior experience utilizing RF units and the WMS System
Previous experience operating pallet jacks, order pickers, high stackers and forklifts preferred
Must have working knowledge of personal computers
Must be able to successfully complete the QVC Vehicle Operator Training Program

Ability to stand for duration of shift
Ability to push/pull totes and/or pallet jacks for duration of shift
Ability to accurately recognize and interpret complex numerical/alphabetical sequences and basic math calculations
Ability to concentrate for long periods of time
Ability to make decisions within a framework. Some opportunity for independent judgment
Ability to operate personal computers and hand held computers.
Ability to operate powered industrial equipment
Ability to be subjected to inside environment temperature changes.
Ability to be subjected to noise and be able to elevate voice in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
