Jacobs has an opening for a Cloud Architect to support a customer in the Washington, DC area. Duties include:

Provide wide range direct support of the project team and DHS client to analyze project needs, business, technical, functional, performance and infrastructure requirements for application and data migration efforts.
Design system architectures to include the software, hardware, and networking components to support the total requirements and provides for present and future cross functional requirements and interfaces.
Prepare and present operational requirements document (ORD), designs, architectures, concept of operations (CONOPS), and transition plans for individual applications and data sets approved by client to migrate to Cloud services.
Develop and produce AWS Architecture drawings using tools such as Visio, PowerPoint or other tools, using AWS standard architecture principles.
Identify, evaluate and implement Cloud data analytics and data science off the shelf solutions that meet DHS client requirements.
Develop cost profiles based on well architected designs, using AWS cost tools.
Perform evaluation of system alternatives and assessment of risks and costs.
Provide in-depth domain expertise and promote AWS Cloud best practices to project technical staff and/or DHS client management.
Ensure that all data and Program processes are properly documented.
Work in a small agile team of Cloud engineers, architects, and security and project managers in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


Qualifications (minimum requirements, per the contract):
Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
BS degree in a computer or system science discipline from an accredited college or university and five (5) years to eight (8) years of progressive, relevant experience, or
any equivalent combination of education, experience, training and certifications.
Demonstrated data analytic and data management skills
An understanding of Cloud Enterprise Data Management and Data Classification requirements, to include: Data Indexing, Data Governance, Data Minimization, Data Tagging, Data Retention, Unique Data Identification, Data Versioning
Experience performing Data Analytics with COTS and GOTS tools leveraging Enterprise Data Architecture
Deep understanding of Cloud Data Storage options and optimization
Ability to generate detailed Cloud Architecture documentation and data flows
Demonstrated experience working in various cloud environments (AWS, Azure, ICGC)

Preferred Qualifications (desired but not required):
AWS Solutions Architect certification
Project Management Professional
Security +
Expertise in current Intelligence Community (IC) or DHS Cloud environments
Experience working in an Agile environment

Essential Functions:
Physical Requirements:Most work will be done at a desk or computer.
Work Environment:General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.
Equipment & Machines:General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Attendance:Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.
Other Essential Functions:Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must take and pass a drug test and background check as well as a motor vehicle records check. Must be a US citizen.
