The radiological technologist can operate in a wide variety of settings. At Amana Care Clinic, they will function in the X-Ray suite and function as a Medical Assistant. As a Radiological Technologist, they are responsible for obtaining the appropriate x-ray films ordered by the provider.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent. Graduation from an accredited program with appropriate licensure and/or certification.
JOB DUTIES:
1. Patient communication and preparation including removal of garments or jewelry that may interfere with resulting films.
2. Positioning patients properly and safely to obtain the correct film.
3. Setting the equipment to obtain the best detail of the area being imaged.
4. Taking preventative steps to avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation to the patient, staff and themselves.
5. Must be able to communicate calmly, compassionately, and professionally with all different types of patients, including the elderly, ill and handicapped patients.
6. Ability to maintain records.
7. Transfer the computerized films to the reading radiologist.
8. Maintain the cleanliness of the X-Ray Suite.
9. Enter patient data into the x-ray equipment.
10. Burn discs of patient x-rays.
