Job Description:
Serves duties as an Air Traffic Control Specialist separating civilian (joint use) and military VFR and IFR aircraft; Monitors and flight follows military aircraft in the restricted airspace operations adjacent to the airfield. Maintains positive control of aircraft within designated ATC assigned airspace and communicates with adjacent facilities to transmit and receive instructions and information relative to flight. This includes FAA Class D airspace and knowledge of coordination with adjacent ARTCC (FAA En-route Air Traffic Control Centers) and familiarization of appropriate Letters of Agreement (LOA's) with Memorandum of Understanding (MOU's). Applies appropriate separation minima IAW applicable FAA or Military directives. Alerts airport emergency crews and other designated personnel while handling unexpected events, emergencies, and unscheduled traffic. Provides current and forecasted weather phenomena to aircraft. Formulates and issues all ground movement instructions to aircraft on the ground, vehicles, and personnel operating within the controlled movement areas. Maintains and disseminates records of daily operations.

Required Skills:
3 years ATC experience working a diversity of fixed-wing and rotary wing aircraft. Familiarization with separation standards established in the FAAO 711.65 and knowledge of Unmanned Aerial Systems operating in Class D airspace. Secret Level Security Clearance. Required to maintain a current FAA Class II Medical clearance at all times or equivalent meeting U.S. Army standards. Maintain training, weather certification and FAA certification for control tower operators as established by AR 95-2. Understanding of Safety Culture and Risk Mitigation. Experience in working integration of high performance aircraft with heavy military transport planes and helicopters into the Class D environment. Valid driver license with acceptable driving record. Ability to pass drug and background screenings.

Desired Skills:
Former military Control Tower Operator. Knowledge of military and FAA coordination/protocols. Familiar with safe and expeditious aircraft operations and Aviation Resource Management Survey requirements (ARMS). Basic to intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. Ability to enter data accurately into databases both manual and electronic. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Effective oral and technical written communication skills to effectively and clearly communicate complex information in high pressure, emergency situations to others. Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, etc. Ability to follow a process. Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data and consider decision impact across multiple areas with limited information in high stress situations and environments. Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management and regulatory agencies. Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to company goals. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations, detect unobvious facts and issues, and exercise resourcefulness in resolving problems.

Education and Experience:
High School graduate with two years college preferred as well as certified by FAA as a Control Tower Operator.
