Provide reference and circulation services and support additional library functions including resource sharing, campus archives, user education and outreach services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and maintain Manassas campus library resource sharing including Intercampus and Interlibrary loan services. Provide individualized and specialized reference services; Provide circulation services; Manage and maintain library patron holds processes to include library fines and fees. Record and report reference statistics; Troubleshoot library equipment and technology; Assist with the coordination and development of social media content and participate in other library outreach initiatives; Manage and maintain the Manassas campus archives, serving as the primary contact for inquiries; Participate in library user education activities; Serve on college/campus committee as needed. Provide other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts or related field; Previous experience in a library providing reference/circulation services.
Academic library experience providing reference services. Advanced knowledge of ALEPH and/or ALMA, PRIMO, Springshare products, CONTENTdm, Library of Congress Classification System, Microsoft Office Suite/software, OCLC Worldshare, PeopleSoft, Blackboard, social media platforms, and library databases. At least 18 credit hours toward an ALA accredited MLS or MLIS degree.
