The Copywriter writes copy that supports prAna’s brand initiatives and marketing strategies. This person reports to and works closely with the Content Manager. As a nimble team, they ensure all copy is captivating and consistently on brand.

Essential Job Functions:
1) Web Flips
Be a product expert: research featured products with cross-functional team.
Draft copy for web flips.
2) Emails
Be a product expert: research featured products with cross-functional team.
Write initial draft of Women’s emails.
Write initial draft of Men’s emails.
3) HQ Stories
Collect and craft Stories posts.
4) Product Descriptions
Write and manage copy creation for new product descriptions.
5) Additional Responsibilities
Write compelling copy consistently.
Be a product expert. Research; write; edit; repeat.
Protect and manage prAna’s brand voice for use in all direct to consumer, wholesale, and employee-facing materials.
Refines voice seasonally based on sales performance, brand equity scores, feedback, and external trends.
Facilitates discussion and exploration of the voice with key stakeholders.
Keeps abreast of consumer trends relevant to the prAna customer and ensures our voice stays relevant within the marketplace.
Works with the following teams: Art Directors, Sales, Merchandising, Product Design & Development, Sustainability & Social Responsibility.
Documents, reviews, and manages proofing process.
Keeps updated copy guidelines for brand consistency.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g. Journalism, Creative Writing, Liberal Arts)
Be prepared to discuss top 5 authors, books, magazines & content-committed brands
Excellent copywriting skills above all else
3-5 years experience as a copywriter
Experience writing copy in content management systems
Experience writing copy for a consumer-facing brand in a direct-to-consumer business
SEO and Content Marketing experience a bonus

Technical Skills and Experience:
MS Word Suite (Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Word)
Must have proven writing capabilities, with a strong grasp of spelling, grammar and creative expression relevant to brand-specific copywriting
Candidates will be asked to complete a two-part writing assignment to demonstrate writing skills.
