The Senior DevOps Engineer leads, develops, and supports all the processes, tools, and systems necessary to optimize the delivery of business applications to the market. The incumbent builds strong business alignment with internal teams and provides them with the platform and technology to easily perform their roles in the delivery lifecycle. This role designs, builds, and manages all automation to support delivery best-practices, and continuously identifies processes to automate/eliminate by applying business process improvements wherever possible. The incumbent provides effective leadership to successfully move Technology Credit Union (Tech CU) platforms and processes to the next generation of cloud business and artificial intelligence capabilities.
Manages the overall planning, development, and implementation of delivery pipeline and automation systems, processes, and services.
Designs and implements best-practice architectures in cloud platforms to support delivery functions.
Provides DevOps and delivery best-practice leadership to development, quality assurance (QA), and other delivery stakeholders.
Provides Senior and Executive Leadership team with adequate information to make decisions (both strategic and tactical) related to operations, capabilities and strategic roadmap.
Proactively evaluates technology and benchmarks to discern trends and areas of opportunities.
Leads the execution of DevOps and delivery automation projects based on technology roadmap, technology decision matrix and member experience in support of business needs.
Identifies and manages external vendor relationships where appropriate.
Collaborates closely with other Information Technology and Security functional groups to ensure alignment of DevOps and security best practices.
Proactively evangelizes DevOps culture and its benefits to the team.
Full-time; typically 40+ hours/week

Education: Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field is required. AWS DevOps Associate/Professional or other related Cloud certifications desired.
Experience: 5+ years' of hands-on and technical leadership experience with DevOps culture and best-practices, working with Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery (CICD) and automation tools to build and enhance software development, application delivery, and service availability, and to minimize the risk of production delivery.
Proven technical leadership experience as Sr DevOps Engineer or similar role.
Experience engaging with cross-functional teams in the delivery lifecycle, e.g. Development Team Leads, Software Engineers, QA Engineers, Technical Project Managers, product owners, Security and Compliance.
Experience in holistic analysis, evaluation, and implementation of CICD and automation components in the delivery pipeline.
Fluency with DevOps best-practices and principles and ability to apply them to a new environment, e.g. CICD, Infrastructure-as-Code, Configuration Management, Delivery Feedback Loop.
Strong understanding and hands-on experience with code build, source control, testing, continuous integration and delivery using standard DevOps CICD tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy, Bitbucket, Git, etc.
Strong understanding and hands-on experience of Cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and their best-practice Architectural Patterns.
Strong hands-on experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, Python, Saltstack, and scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, Bash.
Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.
Strong experience with monitoring and operational feedback tools like Datadog, New Relic, Pagerduty, Sumo Logic.
Proven ability to deliver complex projects.

This is a grade 15 position, with a salary range from $103,100 to $164,900 with bonus potential of 15%. The anticipated range for new hires is between the low-end and midpoint of the range, depending on experience. Tech CU is a pay-for performance organization that benchmarks base pay to the 50th percentile of our market and we provide incentive-based compensation aligned with successful accomplishment of individual and corporate goals.
