The Senior Server & Security Analyst is responsible for overseeing and managing GUC's infrastructure and cybersecurity program. This position leads a team who has a broad range of responsibilities related to infrastructure including server administration, virtualization, networking (wired and wireless), telephones, and backups. Additionally, this position is responsible for leading a team responsible for the company's cybersecurity, ensuring security best-practices are maintained, and proactively monitoring and responding to cybersecurity threats.
Oversees management of network infrastructure, including firewall, network switches and wireless infrastructure, to ensure proper configuration for optimal performance
Plans use of disk storage on local system or on SAN/NAS and coordination of changes in these requirements as growth occurs
Oversees management of Commission telephone system
Manages and participates in after-hours support duties to sustain networking systems and service levels
Supports Commission’s server infrastructure, managing both VMware and Oracle Virtual Manager server environments
Manages patch schedules for all servers and ensures systems are patched in a timely manner
Responsible for infrastructure backup and disaster recovery
Assists in the development and execution of strategic roadmaps with focus on server administration and management of associated infrastructure systems/applications (e.g. Physical Servers, Virtual Server Hosts/Storage, Backup Systems, etc.)
Responsible for cybersecurity program, including security risk identification, quantification, and management efforts, as well as providing risk evaluation and assessment of likelihood and impact of security findings, vulnerabilities and exceptions.
Coordinate Information Security incident management events, incident data collection, remediation activities and management reporting of vendor security incidents.
Reviews, prioritizes and recommends information security improvements
Responsible for providing advisory services to staff to assist in identifying, managing, and mitigating technology security risks
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field
5+ years of related professional and team leadership experience
Background in data center management, including server administration, virtualization, networking and storage
Supervisory and project management experience
Knowledge of information security and how it relates to management of infrastructure
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other computer end user personnel
Experience with server administration that utilizes tier 1 storage area networks
General knowledge of VOIP telephony systems, SCADA, wireless and physical security systems
Knowledge of server virtualization platforms such as VMware ESXi and Oracle Virtual Manager (OVM)
Knowledge of Cisco networking OS and Unified Computing System (UCS)
Expert understanding of Office 365 system administration and support
Experience with cloud computing
Experience with Fortinet firewalls and Aruba wireless networking
Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
Experience with the management of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy
Experience participating in and developing policies for disaster recovery exercises
Experience with privileged account management
Experience supporting Laserfiche enterprise document management system
One or more Information Security industry certifications
One or more IT industry recognized certifications
Proven ability to translate complex business needs into technical solutions
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Valid N.C. driver’s license and use of personal automobile for travel to Commission locations within Pitt County required. Position open until filled. The successful candidate will be provided a comprehensive benefits package which includes membership in the N.C. Local Government Retirement System.
Salary Range $75,732.80 - $113,588.80. Anticipated hiring range is $75,732.80 - $94,681.60, commensurate with experience.
