Position Description

Pine Lake Laboratories is a contract research organization providing analytical solutions to the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device industries. We specialize in developing analytical methods to meet our client’s needs in the development and FDA registration of innovative new therapies and devices. We are FDA registered and inspected with a proven record of ensuring FDA compliance. Our areas of expertise include extactable and leachables testing, bioanalysis, CMC analytical testing and analytical testing of combination medical devices.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying prospective clients and generating sales opportunities in assigned territory by qualifying inbound warm leads and managing prospects through the sales process. We are looking for highly motivated, performance-driven, tenacious and coachable individuals seeking an opportunity to sell CRO offerings in a dynamic , performance driven environment . The Business Development Associate plays a critical role in helping Pine Lake Laboratories achieve continued growth and success.

The successful candidate will be able to work remotely as long as they are located within reasonable proximity of the New Haven area.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet monthly and annual sales quotas and new business goals as set by management
  • Build and manage a pipeline of prospective clients through networking, relationship building and lead generation in an assigned territory. Monitor and update senior management on pipeline.
  • Engage in clear and effective communication (outbound calls, emails etc.) to build/cultivate interest in and set appointments to educate on the capabilities of Pine Lake Laboratories.
  • Identify key decision makers to determine buying readiness and timelines.
  • Strong presentation skills to articulate capabilities and value proposition of Pine Lake Laboratories to potential clients and decision-makers.
  • Capture and manage information/data/metrics in CRM system.
  • Attend trade shows and conferences.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, chemistry, life science or related field
  • 2-5 years prior CRO sales experience
  • Ability to work independently in fast-past environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, sales, decision making, problem solving and creative thinking skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
