**Positive Overview**

The Manager Digital Editorial, Math position resides within the Math Business Unit and is responsible for teams building digital products for K-12 Mathematics programs. Under the leadership of the Director of Instructional Design and Technology, the Manager, Digital Editorial will play a critical role in building digital products. This position will lead Senior Digital Producers, Digital Producers, and vendor teams in the development of large scale product offerings. The Manager will assign and track the definition of components or product offerings, be held responsible for detailed schedules, manage large budgets, lead the development, manage the QA, and launch the product to the market. This position will bring innovation to the product offerings and the development processes for digital products. The candidate will have an excellent understanding of digital development processes and tools and bring to the position skills to build market-winning product offerings.

The work of the Manager Digital Editorial, Math will impact K-12 education by helping to bring 21st century learning products to market. The decisions made by the Manager position will greatly influence the success of the Math product offerings. The scope of work will encompass a wide range of multimedia formats on a variety of platforms and delivery devices (IWBs/Web/LMS platforms/mobile delivery) available today, and new devices and platforms in the future.


Lead large teams of producers, senior producers and vendors, working with editors, designers, instructional designers, QA and project managers working on multi-million dollar innovative Math product offerings.

Manage a staff to ensure they meet expectations and deliver high quality products on-time and on-budget.

Responsible for budgets ranging from $500K - $5MM.

Hire vendor teams to support large projects. Onboard and manage the vendor teams.

Report progress on project to the Director of Technology & Instructional Design and the VP, Product Development / Math & Science.

Build staffing plans and ensure projects are correctly staffed.

Manage critical projects and budgets to meet and not exceed the development budgets and deliver the products on time with high quality.

Work with Prototype Production team to create prototype digital content.

Work with Instructional Designers, Research and Usability Testing teams to ensure products are validated as part of formative evaluation.

Ensure products meet high QA standards.

Makes independent decisions to select processes and tools.

Follows current trends and research on innovations and educational technology.

Mentor Producers and Senior Producers.


**Required Knowledge and Experience**

Bachelor’s degree or higher degree required.

Minimum of 5 years experience leading the development of large scale components or digital product offerings to the education market.

Ability to lead large teams working on multiple projects simultaneously building digital products, while also managing a staff of Senior Producers, Producers, and vendors working on a variety of projects.

The ability to write and review RFP’s and detail product specification for vendors and internal development teams.

Knowledge of development processes to build digital products. The ability to modify the processes to create digital first products, plus the ability to provide leadership to implement these processes.

The ability to teach others about the digital development process.

Flexibility to work in a fast-moving development environment.

Excellent communication skills, strong analytical and verbal communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively in visual, oral and written form.

Ability to build bridges with the various internal business units and strong relationships with vendors.

Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and other project management and budget tracking tools.

Experience in critical roles working on multi-million-dollar projects.
