Job Summary:

This position assists theActivity Director in establishing a program of activities that is stimulatingand that fosters a positive atmosphere through leisure activities that meet thespiritual, cultural, physical, intellectual and social needs of residents bothinside and outside the Community.

Job Duties:
Essential Functions
Support the mission, vision, and culture ofthe organization through positive communication and leadership.

Contribute to Community relationships bydemonstrating cooperation and professional conduct with residents, families,fellow associates, physicians, pharmacies and other vendors or persons.

Contribute to team effort by being flexible inwork assignments; by furnishing support; by taking initiative; and byunderstanding how this position affects and compliments all other Communitypositions.

Ableto maintain work pace appropriate to given workload. Perform activities onschedule while maintaining regular attendance and punctuality within specifiedtolerance.

Approachall encounters with residents and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner.

Assistwith planning and implementing events and activities.

Promoteresidents attendance at events and activities.

Assistin preparation of activity calendar and input of newsletter.

Conductactivity programs as assigned.

Drivecommunity van and bus.

Assist residents entering and exiting van orbus.

Assist with decorations for holidays andspecial occasions. Assist residents with gardening projects.

Assistwith group activities, sing-a-longs, exercise classes.
Added Responsibilities
Respondappropriately to changes in the work setting.

Performother related assignments as required.

AssistCommunity Relations Director with large community events.

Assistthe front desk, dining room, and yard work as needed.

Befamiliar with Policies & Procedures Manual and Associate Handbook.

Job Specifications:
Must be at least 18 years old

Must have required health screening, TB clearance, andcriminal record clearance

Thisposition requires a high school diploma or equivalent certificate, computerliteracy, and experience working with elderly.

Mustpossess valid First Aid Certification, a valid license to drive a passengervehicle, state required licenses, and a clean motor vehicle report.

Mustalso be available for weekend coverage and on-call emergency situations on arotating basis.

Operatea VCR, DVD, and stereo system.

Demonstratepositive attitude and ability to work well with all people, particularly theelderly.

Maintainmental alertness, attention, and concentration for necessary periods. Apply common sense understanding and carry outinstructions (written, oral or diagrammatic).

Adaptto situations requiring the precise attainment of set limits, tolerances, orstandards.

Regularlyrequired to sit and talk or listen.

Able to stand, stoop and bend frequently, liftup to 20 pounds and push up to 40 pounds. Also must have the ability to talk,hear, sit, use hands and fingers, handle/feel objects, tools or controls, andreach with hands and arms.

Specificvision requirements for this job include close vision, depth perception, andthe ability to adjust the focus of the eyes.

Working Conditions
Mustbe willing and able to work required and scheduled shifts, including evenings,weekends, overtime and holidays.
