Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience working in a Product Marketing, Product Specialist, Product Management or similar capacity.
Experience working in an e-commerce, gaming, subscription, or digital content business.
Experience working with Product and Engineering teams, with the ability to make smart tradeoffs and rapidly launch and iterate new product features for a user-facing commercial program.
Product experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM), promotional platforms, or similar marketing infrastructure.
Ability to analyze research or performance data, develop insights and apply them to optimize the product roadmap.
Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to effectively influence cross-functional teams.
Effective communication and program management skills; highly collaborative working approach.
Excellent user focus and attention to design details.
About the job
As a Product Specialist on the Business Innovation team, you'll partner with Product Marketing Managers, Product Managers and Engineers to launch and scale brand-new Google Play premium services to consumers.
Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.
Synthesize business needs, developer feedback, critical user journeys, and marketing strategy into a cohesive and thoughtfully prioritized product roadmap for Google Play Premium Services.
Develop business-case-driven requirements documents based on key use cases, robust data analysis and granular product understanding. Communicate requirements with multiple Play Engineering and Product Management teams and manage iterative discussions.
Manage the operationalization of product features, ensuring that all details for a feature launch are carefully addressed including; driving communications, testing/piloting, launch activities, and training for new features, as well as ongoing support for technical issues.
Be the subject matter expert on the technical platform to both Marketing and Operations teams and advise on campaign structure, experimentation, and opportunities for scale.
