The Pratt Library is accepting applications for a part-time Library Services Assistant (LSA)-Page for the Maryland Inter-Library Loan (MILO) Department.
This position reports directly to the Transhipping Department Supervisor.
Summary of Duties: The summary of duties listed below is not exhaustive. Additional duties are dependent upon the needs of the hiring division.
Packs and unpacks containers of library materials. Sorts and routes materials. Operates postage meter. Lifts totes and containers full of books for distribution to Pratt library branches and Maryland network libraries. Maintains statistical records. Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of the 10th grade and at least 18 years of age. Aptitude for clerical work. Ability to follow instructions. Strong attention to detail.
Additional education is desired.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Aptitude for accuracy and the ability to follow instructions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push book trucks weighing up to 100 lbs. on a regular basis. Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stoop and reach on a regular basis. Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less). Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring objects into sharp focus). Ability to work up to nineteen (19) hours per week.
Those under final consideration for appointment must pass a job-related physical examination by the City.
Drug & Alcohol Testing
Those under final consideration for appointment will be required to submit to drug and alcohol testing.
Position of Trust
