What You’ll Get to Do:
The candidate will provide ID card services to Active military, Reserve Members, military retirees, family members/dependents and other eligible recipients of the Uniformed Services, DoD civilian employees, eligible contractor personnel, retirees and dependents, and other customers. Performs a variety of general administrative and customer service tasks in support of day-to-day operations of the Office of Command Administrative Services.
More About the Role:
Perform all functions required to issue ID cards, CAC issuance-related tasks to include review, research, and verification of source documents eligibility, the DoD RAPIDS Workstation, Verifying Official Information System (VOIS), and the Real-Time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS) Training Guide on a daily basis.
Take appointments via telephone and email request through the generic ID card email account, if applicable, or manage the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) centralized ID card appointment scheduler.
Update the on-line calendar daily to reflect new appointments and provide same day replies to requesters.
Manage the accountability and control the issuance of CAC ID Cards for Civilians, Active military, National Guard and Reserve Members, military retirees, family members/dependents and other eligible recipients.
Maintain 100% accountability of serially numbered ID cards and report any missing cards within one business day.
Manage ID card stock to ensure there are no interruptions in the issuance of ID cards and CACs.
Register, process, and maintain Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) and RAPIDS information as part of VO responsibilities on a daily basis.
Assist customers; provide advice on eligibility requirements, and process applications to determine eligibility.
Enroll and disenroll personnel in DEERS.
Research and reconcile DEERS information based on inquiries.
Update DEERS/RAPIDS within one hour of approval and respond to inquiries not later than one business day following the inquiry.
Follow-up and resolve discrepancies not later than two business days following notification.
Process requests for and issue CACs for eligible personnel as needed.
Verify eligibility and issue Contractor ID badges in accordance with local policy and maintain a log of issued badges with daily updates.
Perform routine operator level maintenance on RAPIDs Workstation and printers IAW applicable instructions, standards and best practices stated in the VOIS standards.
Provides general administrative functions such as answering phones, taking notes, maintaining files, sending and receiving correspondence as well as greeting customers.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Previous DEERS/RAPID ID card facility experience
A minimum of 2 years-experience in issuing CAC ID Cards and administrative support experience required
Must be able to acquire and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. This position will require successful completion of pre-employment background check and subsequent security investigation favorably adjudicated prior to operating and having access to DEERS/RAPIDS equipment.
Strong communication skills, dependability, professional demeanor and team player approach required
Ability to exercise discretion at all times and provide limited judgment is required
Must be available to provide services Monday-Friday, 0715 - 1600
Ability to enter data with 100% accuracy in the DEERS RAPID Database
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Knowledge of DEERS/RAPID process
Time Management skills, ability to interact with all personalities within a military environment, and demonstrated problem solving skills are strongly desired.
Should have ability to operate general office equipment such as computer, fax, copier, and scanner.
