Please submit Resume and cover letter to mculhane@farracademy.org A small (36 student) therapeutic day school serving bright adolescents (7th-12th grade) with a range of special needs, among them emotional, social, ADHD and learning disabilities, has an opening for a skilled, enthusiastic, caring English teacher and Reading Specialist who wishes to work in a team-oriented school emphasizing enhancing student academic performance while teaching students how to successfully manage the emotional issues and learning challenges they face. Candidates should have familiarity with MA Curriculum Frameworks, modifications and accommodations used to teach students with a wide range of abilities, learning needs and the ability to teach a full range of courses and levels from advanced to remedial; a clinical framework as part of classroom management practices; ability to work with troubled and challenging adolescents. Familiarity with Orton Gillingham approach.Candidates should have excellent written language skills and experience formulating and writing IEPs and progress reports. Interest and skill in athletics and camping helpful; tenacity and a good sense of humor are essential.Immediate employment opportunities for the 2018-2019 academic year.
